Meet Anne

Anne grew up in suburbs outside of Paris and was a journalist for 20 years before realizing that food was her passion; she changed her career, wrote three cookbooks and has now been working in food full-time for three years. Anne delights in cooking simple things with her own creative twist, and in showing people some of the simple and delicious tricks to making home-cooked, delicious foods - like churning her own fresh butter from creme fraîche. Anne lives in a unique property in Montmartre, a tall and skinny town home that features five living floors and a beautiful roof deck overlooking the famous Sacré Coeur basilica.

Anne's passion for food runs deep. “When I can’t sleep I read about food, I watch about food… everything is about food. When I don’t feel well I have to cook. I have to feel butter and flour in my hands.” In addition to her incredible passion for food and cooking Anne loves finding things at the flea market, walking through Paris and stopping in every pastry shop to eat. Ask Anne for her plentiful recommendations for places to eat and her favorite coffee shops in the city.

What to expect

Market visit: (2-7 guests) Meet Anne at a local bakery where you will pick up fresh bread, then continue on to Anne's local butcher and grocery store to pick up artisanal ham, butter and fresh juice. Return the short walk to Anne's unique home where Anne will teach you how to make croque monsieur, including making a fresh bechamel sauce. Enjoy your meal together either in Anne's living and kitchen area or, if it is a nice day, on Anne's beautiful rooftop terrace overlooking the famous Sacré Coeur basilica. In addition to your croque monsieur you will enjoy a fresh green salad and juice; for dessert enjoy some French pastries or sweets such as fontainbleu with fresh cream, cheese and sugar, homemade cookies, financiers or pastries from the local bakery.

Notes: Please note that Anne lives in a unique property that is a tall and narrow town house; the kitchen is on the top floor, so you will need to climb five short flights of stairs to reach the experience.
