Focaccia, a crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside yeast-bread
Labne, a Levantine yogurt spread
1 1/4 cup (310 ml) warm water
2 tsp dried yeast
2 tsp caster sugar
3 tbsp olive oil
3 cups (450 g) flour or bakers flour
2 tsp salt
1 sprig rosemary
Salami, sun dried tomatoes and olives (optional)
2 cups Greek yogurt
1 tbsp olive oil
Salt to taste
A sprinkle of za'atar
About your host
A passionate, self-taught home cook who grew up on a wheat and sheep farm, Ally has been cooking for almost 40 years now and bakes a loaf of bread daily. She wants to demystify the process for others! Ally is eager to teach guests how to make focaccia that is crisp on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. You will also learn how to make labne, a Levantine yogurt spread. Ally enjoys cooking and puts in so much time, love and effort that each meal turns into a food event! Her passion has opened many opportunities and has done a variety of things in the food industry, including working at a café to develop their menu and catering for a number of events. In addition to her first love of cooking, Ally also enjoys gardening, photography and pottery. Ally is always trying out new things in her kitchen, experimenting with flavors and trying different food combinations. She loves cooking healthy, fresh meals from scratch and uses produce from her own vegetable, fruit and herb garden.
