Meet Charlotte

Charlotte is a sommelier and professional olive oil taster specializing in olive oil education and sensory tasting experiences. In Provence, where olive oil is taken as seriously as wine, she loves introducing guests to the region’s rich olive-growing traditions and teaching them how to recognize the aromas, flavors and qualities of exceptional oils. Through approachable and engaging tastings, Charlotte makes the world of olive oil easy to understand, whether guests are complete beginners or passionate food lovers. From early October through Christmas, she offers a particularly special opportunity to taste primeur olive oils—the vibrant, intensely aromatic oils produced at the very beginning of the new harvest. Charlotte looks forward to welcoming travelers to a typical Provençal olive grove to share her expertise and a delicious taste of Provence’s agricultural heritage.

What to expect

Please note menu might vary. If there are particular dishes you are interested in trying, please include your request in the booking form.

Olive Oil Tasting: (4-30 guests) Available only from early October through Christmas, this seasonal olive oil tasting offers a rare opportunity to discover Provence’s freshly produced primeur olive oils at the very beginning of the new harvest. Guests will taste a selection of vibrant new-season oils, learning to recognize their aromas, freshness and intensity while discovering how olive oil is produced and how to properly taste and evaluate it. The oils are paired with exceptional local artisan breads made from heritage grains, providing the perfect accompaniment while keeping the focus on the distinctive flavors of the new harvest. Much like Beaujolais Nouveau, these primeur oils are produced for only a short period each year, making this an intimate and highly seasonal way to experience Provence’s agricultural and culinary heritage.

Notes: Weather permitting, the experience begins with a guided visit of the olive grove. Should weather conditions not allow, the workshop will be held at Charlotte’s residence, without compromising the quality of the experience.

Charlotte gave my friends and me the most special and unique sorbet and olive oil tasting we could have imagined. The variety of olive oils was fantastic, and easily the best any of us had ever tried - and that’s saying something with a few cooks in the group! Charlotte was also incredibly knowledgeable, sharing so much about the olive trees, each oil we tried, and its origins. The setting itself was unforgettable, the olive grove and beautifully arranged table made the experience feel even more special. The sorbet and ice cream selection her husband made was truly next level, and some of the most delicious desserts I’ve ever had. We could not stop talking about the strawberry sorbet for the rest of the trip. Nothing else we tasted afterward even came close to this experience. An absolute highlight we’ll never forget!

Gourmet, informative & fun! The olive oil workshop (followed by a vinaigrette workshop) was very well structured and explained. The information was very practical, answering many questions I've had on olive oil for a long time. I consider this experience, not only educational but cultural. Charlotte shares her French knowledge on history & cuisine in the world of olive oil, transporting us through time to an economy that shaped the region. The cherry on the cake is we all had so much fun. A perfect hands-on activity to experience in Provence.
