Cooking experience:
(1-12 guests)
Join your host Giorgia at her rustic farmhouse in Radda in Chianti. Enjoy an olive oil tasting on her outdoor patio as you gaze at the view of the vineyards before you start cooking. The extra virgin olive oil that you will try and cook with is pressed from Giorgia’s olive trees. Next learn to cook a traditional Italian meal from Giorgia’s grandmother’s recipes that have been passed down through generations of her family. Your hands-on Italian cooking class in Radda in Chianti will last about two hours. You will learn to make three dishes made from scratch; an appetizer like panzanella (Tuscan tomato, cucumber and bread salad), a homemade pasta like tagliatelli, ravioli or maltagliati from scratch along with a Bolognese sauce (ragu) and tiramisu. You will share the classic Italian meal you helped prepare with Giorgia and her husband Luigi at their outdoor dining table over wine (typically Chianto Classico from their production) and conversation about Italian life and culture. Giorgia occasionally hosts guests at her home and while there may be other people in the house, your experience with Giorgia will remain private.
Giorgia offers evening classes only in the summer, from June to September as the evenings are cold during the rest of the year. She offers morning classes throughout the year.
Notes: Wine is included in the cost of your experience. For children under 12 years of age, the cooking class will be held differently, it will not be the regular class as described. Giorgia will reach out to the guest to personalize a program that is more child friendly (as the original class could be dangerous for young children), based on the age and abilities of the child. Please note that, as is common in many Italian homes, this residence does not have air conditioning.

Really nice experience in the middle of the Tuscan landscape. Nice & sweet people who help you to create typical delicious Italian/Tuscan plates. Really enjoyed the cooking class, even when you do not like cooking in general, I would still recommend this experience.- Vigo July 19, 2025
Fabulous morning with Giorgia and Gioia! They made the class fun and taught us new techniques! I would never have believed that I could make a tiramisu that tasted that good! Our whole group couldn’t recommend this class more highly! One of the highlights of our trip to Tuscany!- MaryKate July 27, 2024
Giorgia was great. Her English is very good. We made chicken stuffed with sage & garlic, gnocchi, crostini & apple cake. She provided all Ingredients and showed us prep techniques as well!- sgtmar June 10, 2023
What a great experience! Giorgia and Giola were great hosts and shared generations of techniques with us. They were both very patient, kind and encouraging. The setting was amazing amongst the vineyards and farm. Giola was kind enough to share her family wine with us - which was also great! Can't wait to make homemade pasta for my family back in Texas!- davehC April 30, 2023
Giorgia and Gioia were absolutely fabulous, both on an interpersonal and professional level. We were two couples, and not only did we all learn how to sous chef and cook up a wonderfully tasty 3 course meal from scratch (Panzanella salad, Pasta Ragu, Tiramisu) but we and our hosts shared our life stories. We touched on topics as far reaching as Roman/Italian/American history, religious backgrounds and practices, and professional experiences. In short, we arrived as clients, and left as friends. We all now have a genuine excitement to get back home to make our own pasta and tiramisu and share our forever memorable and touching experience with all our friends and family, all of whom will be given unequivocal recommendation to learn from Giorgia and Gioia.- Jonathan May 18, 2022
We loved our class with the delightful host and instructors. Easy to follow and very helpful for us to be successful. It was definitely a highlight of our three week visit in Tuscany. Would recommend to anyone who wants a full enjoyable day.- MaryF January 16, 2022
Three friends who all consider ourselves good cooks all learned new skills, and unlearned things we’ve done badly for many years. Chef Giorgia is an inspiration, instilling an appreciation for the culture, climate, and history of Tuscany and Tuscan cuisine. We made pasta, a rich sauce, a lovely panzanella salad, and the best-ever tiramisu (I tried tiramisu almost every day all over Italy for 4 weeks at different venues...ours was best). All this was accomplished while munching on Tuscan bread cubes dipped in flavorful herbed olive oil, and sipping wine from the local Cesani vineyard. The views from their charming farmhouse include the gorgeous agricultural countryside (olive groves and vineyards galore) as well as the walled, many-towered hilltop town of San Gimignano. Giorgia is knowledgable, helpful, fun, and became a friend the moment we met. You can’t have a better time anywhere.- daisytripod December 19, 2019
