Giulia is a friendly Rome-born host with a professional background in migration studies and a lifelong passion for cooking and hosting. She grew up surrounded by traditional Roman cuisine and still treasures a 1928 cookbook that once belonged to her great-aunt. While she has trained in bread baking and pastry arts, her true culinary foundation comes from family traditions, where preparing meals is seen as an expression of love and care. Alongside Roman cooking, their family heritage also features classic Ligurian recipes, as her husband is from Genoa. Giulia also enjoys pottery, and you will have the opportunity to use her handcrafted ceramics during your dining experience.
Giulia loves opening her home to friends and beyond: since 2013, she and her family have been home-swapping as their preferred way to travel, which has led to beautiful friendships, immersive cultural experiences, and insider knowledge of cities and hidden corners of neighborhoods. She hopes to offer the same experience to travelers visiting her home who are curious to learn about Roman culinary traditions and everyday life in Rome.
