I honestly loved everything about the experience! My favorite things I ate were the cao lầu and the chả giò hoi an. I enjoyed every single moment - from assembling the spring rolls to creating all of the different sauces for our meal. Linh was very responsive, she took time to explain interesting information about the different ingredients we would use, and even invited us to coffee and sweet snacks after the market tour. Her kitchen is immaculate and beautiful, and ideally set up for a cooking class. She even gifted us long, wooden chopsticks and a vegetable slicer/chopper, which was very sweet!

We had an amazing experience with Lihn! Over a few fun and hands-on hours, we prepared four delicious dishes – a fresh mango salad with shrimp, lemongrass chicken stir-fry, authentic cao lau, and a rich eggplant clay pot. Every dish was packed with flavor, and we learned so much that we can take home. Lihn is a fantastic teacher – clear, patient, and super engaging. It was just the two of us, and she managed to balance guiding us while letting us do everything ourselves. She’s also incredibly friendly and open – we had such a great conversation over dinner and got to hear about her inspiring journey as a chef, her family and vietnamese culture. The class is held in her spotless and cozy home, which makes the whole experience feel warm and personal. Highly, highly recommend this class to anyone visiting Hoi An – it was a true highlight of our trip!- Theresa April 23, 2025
I highly recommend this Hoi An cooking class with Linh. It was undoubtedly the best Vietnamese food we ate in the whole of Vietnam, on our two week trip there. I had the biggest smile on my face when I had this experience with my best friend and I have the biggest smile on my face now while writing this review, reliving the wonderful day. It's the perfect experience for anyone who is curious about Vietnamese food, culture and cuisine. You will not just leave with your stomachs full but would have learned so much about the people, culture, ingredients and how truly special it is to be invited into a local's home and have them share their heritage with you! Linh picked us up at our hotel, she then shared with us a menu where we could choose any four dishes that we would like to learn to cook. After selecting our dishes we arrived at Hoi An Central market where we were given the beautiful Vietnamese conical hat and basket to begin our shopping adventure. This is a farmers market, where you will mostly find locals buying fresh, seasonal produce. Depending on the dishes we chose, Linh guided us with the ingredients we needed to buy, all while explaining to us where it comes from, its significance in Vietnamese cooking and how to choose the freshest ingredients. We bought fresh herbs, vegetables, meat and spices and even tried some local fruits and shared a Vietnamese coffee before heading to Linh's home. The journey to her home was wonderful, we go to see another side of Hoi An, all while hearing fun stories about Linh and her family. Upon arrival we were greeted by Linh's sister and husband, who offered us a refreshment before we went to her beautiful, professional level kitchen for our Hoi An cooking class. In 2 hours, we prepared four dishes from scratch - a private, hands-on experience, which is suitable for all - beginners, professionals, families, couples and even children. I did the cooking class with my best friend and it was the most unique experience we have had together, we often reminisce about it, it was truly the highlight of our trip! Now coming to the best part, sharing the dishes we helped prepare, undoubtedly the best cao lau and banh xeo in Vietnam. And the grilled lemongrass fish in banana leaves was the most flavorful fish dish I've ever eaten! I cannot wait to re-create it, Linh even shared a recipe book with us, so it will not be difficult. This is an unmissable experience in Hoi An, a must do on every traveler's list. The best Vietnamese cooking class in Hoi An to learn local, traditional dishes from an expert! Thank you so much Linh, this Vietnamese cooking class is truly unforgettable and so memorable!- Neha September 18, 2023
My friend and I had such a fun afternoon with Linh! She took us to the market and we learned about different local ingredients. We then went to her home where we prepared 4 delicious Hoi An recipes. We had a fantastic time with Linh, learning not just how to cook some delicious Vietnamese dishes, but also about her family, about Vietnam and life in this beautiful country. We started with a trip to the market where we bought fresh fish and veggies for the dishes we had chosen to make, Linh was great at describing what everything was and super knowledgeable about the market and stall holders. Then after a quick drink stop, we went to Linh’s home by the beach to cook up s storm in her amazing purpose built kitchen. We chopped, marinaded, stirred, fried and served up four dishes including Vietnamese pancakes, eggplant with lemongrass and chilli, vegetable curry and a sweet and sour fish dish. We enjoyed a meal and more chatter with the lovely Linh and had a wonderful few hours at her home. We can’t wait to try cooking them at home. We highly recommend doing this cooking class with her and hope to see her again on our next visit. Thank you Linh xx- CarolineW2905 September 15, 2019
We loved this experience. Very well organized and thoughtfully prepared for just the two of us. Linh was a great guide and we cooked some wonderful food. Linh has a very professional set up and is super friendly.- Brown_family_London August 01, 2019
My class with Linh started at our hotel, where she picked me up (she had a driver) and then we went to the local market. During our walk through the market Linh taught me about a lot of local fruits and vegetables, and didn't hesitate to stop and buy goods so I could try them. After the market visit we drove to her home, where we had a 3 hour cooking class. I'm amazed at how many different dishes we made! Everything was fresh, delicious, clean and fun. I'd highly recommend this experience to anyone that wants a unique cooking experience where you go into the cooks home, learn about their life, culture and enjoy delicious food that you had a hand in making.- Mary C February 21, 2018
The experience with Linh in Hoi An was terrific and first rate; wonderful market trip where she bought from regular local vendors many of whom she clearly knew. We finished the market tour with a cup of coffee at a local cafe then to her house for the class and meal. Her kitchen is lovely and very adequate for a group - she has several burners. The home is nice and accommodating and is very close to the beach. Her teaching was experienced and organized - easy to understand and duplicate at home. The food was delicious and she offered a beer with lunch:-) The pick up and drop off were great as well. She gave a sweet parting gift of cooking chop sticks and a Vietnamese veg peeler.- mitchsf February 11, 2018
