WHAT WILL YOU COOK TOGETHER:
  • Georgian Khinkali, spiced-meat and vegetable filled dumplings
INGREDIENTS:
  • 4 cups (1/2 kg) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups water (as needed)
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 lb ground pork (optional - can be added if beef is not fatty enough)
  • 2 medium yellow onions, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper, or to taste
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper, plus more for serving
  • A few sprigs of fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 potato, boiled and smashed
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms, chopped
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • Salt to taste

With Tina, you will experience Georgian cuisine - a melting pot of a variety of flavors and new ingredients that you may never have tasted before. Learn to make khinkali, brothy, spiced-meat (and vegetable) filled dumplings, considered a national dish of Georgia. Dinner parties in Georgia are never complete without a plate of steaming hot khinkali! Tina enjoys meeting people from around the world, learning about different cultures and sharing the rich food traditions of her country Georgia.
