Your host Lasha and Elene
Lasha and his mom are excited to teach guests how to make Adjarian Khachapuri, an open, boat-shaped traditional Georgian bread from family recipes! Lasha quit his corporate job five years ago to live a more active and fulfilling life. Today, he runs a guest house, is a tour guide and offers cooking classes along with his mother, Elene. Elene is a great cook and has served as a chef for hundreds of events and banquets, cooking traditional Georgian cuisine. She learned to cook from her mother, mother-in-law and late husband. Lasha fondly remembers helping his mother in the kitchen as a child, and so he saw fit that they host together, doing something they are both so passionate about. Lasha and Elene are excited to cook, eat and share stories of Georgian customs and traditions with guests!

"We truly enjoyed the virtual khachapuri and dolma cooking class with Lasha and Elene. Throughout the class, they monitored our progress and provided helpful advice. There were some ingredients that were difficult to find in the U.S. and UK, and they provided substitutions that were easy to find locally. We visited Georgia last year and this class brought back some wonderful memories through the traditional foods of the country."

"Lasha and Elene were lovely and patient with us. They consistently checked in on our progress and helped us fix our mistakes along the way so we still ended up with a successful and delicious dish! Thank you!"

"I had my reservations, if an online class could come near to the real thing. But in a time of travel restrictions it can provide a window to other places. Elene and Lasha were patient chefs. I would urge people to take this class. The "Khachapuri" is an ultimate comfort food. It tastes like a hug. "

"The class was so much fun! Lasha made us feel like we were part of the family! His mother was adorable and we were easily able to understand all of the steps. The class was authentic and Lasha even gave us a glimpse into Georgian lifestyle by showing us his home and a view of the countryside. We had a blast, and the food came out PHENOMENAL! I would recommend this class (and Lasha!) to anyone."
