Your host Marissa
Marissa is excited to teach you her heartwarming ugali and curry beef stew, a warm and saucy Tanzanian beef curry! The very first time Marissa visited her husband William’s Tanzanian modest hut, she fell in love with the beautiful and delicious meal prepared by Shida (her mother in law). Shida’s wonderful cooking, care and hospitality was something Marissa could never forget. So when William and she decided to move back to Tanzania (from the US), she wanted travelers to experience what she did when she first visited. Marissa wants everyone to be able to experience what she does being American and a part of a beautiful Tanzanian family, understanding how the food is sourced, cooked and enjoyed.

"We absolutely loved our class with Marissa - and we felt so lucky to be able to meet her and her family. We really felt like we were there with her in the village - and loved learning about the food, and about how each part is made traditionally. They were very patient as we tried to keep up! Can't recommend this enough - and the stew is delicious! "
