Meet Camila

Camila and her mother absolutely love cooking and hosting people in their beautiful home. Beyond just informal gatherings, they love setting a nice table, preparing the house and creating a great atmosphere to celebrate with their guests and family.

Camila will soon graduate as a chef from the prestigious local culinary arts institute Mausi Sebess and she is eager to share everything she has learned during the last two years with her guests. She is also a frequent traveler. During her last trip to Italy, Camila shared a very interesting culinary and cultural experience with locals, which ultimately motivated her to become a Traveling Spoon host so she could provide the same local culinary insight and cultural experience to travelers from around the world.

What to expect

Please note menu might vary. If there are particular dishes you are interested in trying, please include your request in the booking form.

In-home meal: (2-6 guests) Meet Camila and her family at their home located in an exclusive country club about 30km outside the city center of Buenos Aires. Enjoy a homecooked meal and wonderful hospitality in a quiet, natural environment outside the city bustle of Buenos Aires. For your meal, select your preferred menu of homemade pasta or pizza (Menu Option 1), traditional Argentinian homecooking, with dishes such as beef stew (Menu Option 2), or a classic asado (Menu Option 3). All menus will start with an appetizer "picada", a selection of regional cheeses, empanadas, chips and bruschetta.

Depending on the weather you might enjoy your meal on Camila's beautiful terrace with a view of the garden or inside at their dining table.

Camila's speciality is pastry and baked goods so for dessert you will be delighted with one of her creations such as arroz con leche or “rogel”, a traditional multi-layered cake filled with dulce de leche and covered in meringue.

Cooking experience: (2-6 guests) During your cooking class help Camila to make your choice of lunch and then learn how to make some of Argentina's most well-known desserts and pastries. Dulce de leche will feature prominently in any Argentinian dessert; you might learn to make one of the most famous local pastries called "rogel", a multi-layered dulce de leche soft cake covered with meringue. Your class will take place in Camila's well-lit, modern kitchen where Camila is excited to share with you some of the many things she has studied in culinary school the past two years.

This information will be emailed to you to the email address you used to sign up, and will also be visible on your Traveling Spoon profile.

Some hosts offer transportation as an optional add-on for travelers. Typically this is round trip transportation with pick up and drop off at your hotel. Pricing is quoted per car. Specific instructions for transportation will be provided in your confirmation details when your booking is confirmed.

Many of our hosts accommodate solo travelers. You can see if a host accepts solo travelers by looking at the traveler range found next to the experience descriptions on the host profile (indicated by the numbers in parentheses next to "In-home meal", "Cooking experience" and "Market visit").

Most of our Traveling Spoon experiences are incredibly family friendly and can accommodate infants and children.
