Meet Franco

Franco discovered his passion for cooking by watching his grandfather grill delicious barbecues for the family while growing up in Mendoza. As a child, he loved spending time in the kitchen alongside his grandmother and aunt, learning the secrets of traditional Argentine cuisine. Today, Franco is a professional chef with years of experience in various kitchens, but his true love lies in teaching others to cook. He combined his passion for cooking and teaching to open his own cooking studio, where he shares the flavors and techniques of Argentina with travelers. Franco also enjoys traveling, and some of his best memories come from cooking and eating with locals around the world. When visiting his city, he can provide insider tips and off-the-beaten-path recommendations for an authentic Argentine experience.

"I love teaching how to cook and getting to know people from around the world, showing them how beautiful Argentina can be."

What to expect

Please note menu might vary. If there are particular dishes you are interested in trying, please include your request in the booking form.

Cooking experience: (1-10 guests) Join Franco in Palermo, Buenos Aires, for a 2.5-hour hands-on, small group Argentine cooking class, perfect for food lovers and travelers seeking authentic local experiences. Begin with a welcome picada of traditional preserves and homemade bread while learning about Argentine culture, history, and culinary traditions. Under Franco’s guidance, prepare a four-course menu from scratch—including a snack, appetizer, main course, and dessert—featuring recipes inspired by his family’s Sunday cooking. Discover the origins of each dish, learn traditional techniques, and gain insider tips on local ingredients. After cooking, share your homemade meal at the table with local Argentine wine and finish with a flamed dulce de leche crepe. This immersive experience is ideal for couples, friends, or families exploring Buenos Aires.

Notes: Franco can accommodate vegetarian, lactose-free, and gluten-free dietary needs upon request. Local wine is included in your Buenos Aires cooking class. Please note this is a shared group cooking class, not a private experience.

PERSONALLY VETTED REVIEW
A Traveling Spoon ambassador visited this host. Here is their personal review.

If you like the idea of learning more about Argentinean food and, actually, learning how to prepare it, Franco’s house is the right place for you! He is really passionate about what he does and enjoys it. I was glad to hear and see someone so happy with his own city and country. The osobuco was amazing; he cooked it for several hours. Everything was marvelous, each dish had its own magic and the fact that we prepared it from scratch, makes it even better.
